Therapist Spotlight: Meet Arpit – Our Newest Intern Therapist
We’re so excited to welcome Arpit to the team starting this September.
Arpit offers therapy sessions for $65, making this a great opportunity to begin (or continue) your therapy journey with the support of a skilled, supervised intern counsellor.
With specialized training in sex therapy and existential-humanistic perspectives, Arpit brings a compassionate, open-minded approach to some of life’s most vulnerable topics.
What Inspired Arpit to Become a Therapist
“I’ve always had an innate desire to connect deeply with people and listen to their stories. After working in public policy supporting vulnerable groups, I realized I wanted to make a difference through direct human connection. My own life experiences reinforced the value of human connection for me, and I realized I wanted to be a therapist.”
Arpit’s Therapeutic Style
Trauma-informed, depth-oriented, and integrative
Draws from psychoanalytic and depth-oriented approaches
Creates space for experiences that may feel unspeakable in daily life
Offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore the taboo and the vulnerable
“I want to meet people where they are and support their emotional expression and connection to the power they already hold within.”
Why Sex Therapy and Existential-Humanistic Perspectives
Growing up in India, Arpit saw both reverence for sexuality in art and culture—and silence and stigma in daily life.
This paradox sparked a passion for breaking taboos and creating a safe space for people to explore their sexual experiences.
“Sex does not happen in a vacuum—our life histories, relationships, and broader circumstances inevitably shape how we experience and relate to it.”
Who Arpit Works Best With
Arpit’s ideal clients are:
Curious about knowing themselves more deeply
Struggling with people-pleasing, perfectionism, or over-intellectualizing emotions
Ready to explore the origins of their patterns and shift toward self-compassion
Arpit’s Hopes for Clients
“I hope clients leave sessions with a mix of curiosity and compassion toward themselves—pausing to notice, reflect, and care for their inner experiences.”
A Playful, Creative Approach
While sessions are deeply respectful of vulnerability, Arpit also makes room for playfulness—incorporating somatic exercises, art, or creative exploration alongside talking.
A Message to Anyone Nervous About Starting Therapy
“Feeling nervous is completely normal. Taking the first step is always the hardest, and it’s okay to move at your own pace.”
