Sex and Sexuality
Our psychotherapy approach to sex and intimacy focuses on promoting healthy and fulfilling sexual relationships by addressing individual and relational factors. We provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals or couples to explore their sexual concerns, enhance their sexual well-being, and develop more satisfying intimate connections.
Sex Education
We provide accurate and evidence-based information about sexual health, anatomy, physiology, and common sexual concerns. This helps individuals develop a better understanding of their bodies and sexual functioning.
Sexual Identity + Orientation
We support individuals in exploring and understanding their sexual identity, orientation, and gender expression. We provide a safe space for individuals to discuss their experiences, challenges, and concerns related to sexual orientation and identity.
Painful Sex
Painful sex, also known as dyspareunia, can result from various factors. Medical conditions such as vaginal infections, endometriosis, or pelvic inflammatory disease may contribute to discomfort during intercourse, requiring treatment targeted at the underlying condition. Psychological factors like anxiety, stress, or past trauma can also play a role, and therapy, including cognitive-behavioural or trauma-focused approaches, can help individuals address these issues. Relationship dynamics, communication problems, or unresolved conflicts within a partnership can impact sexual well-being. Taking a comprehensive approach that considers both physical and psychological factors is essential in addressing painful sex and promoting healthier sexual experiences.
Couples/Intimacy
Our therapeutic approach for healing sex and intimacy in couples involves creating a safe space for open communication and exploring individual and relationship history. We address emotional and psychological factors, enhance communication and emotional intimacy, and normalize sexual desire. Rebuilding trust and intimacy is prioritized, accompanied by at home exercises. Homework assignments and skill-building activities support ongoing progress. Through this collaborative approach, couples can rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and cultivate a healthy and fulfilling sexual and intimate relationship.
